Prices are required for each book you wish to sell on Google Play. To sell books, you’ll also need to complete a one-time setup of your account-level payment settings. You can use a spreadsheet if you want to edit prices for multiple books.
For Partners who use ONIX, any changes you make in the Partner Center should also be made in your ONIX feed. The next time you send an ONIX feed, the information you provided via ONIX will overwrite your existing settings.
Note: Some features described on this page may not be available, as selling books on Google Play is limited to certain countries.
Add a price to your book
The steps to add a new price depend on the version of the Partner Center you're using.
- Sign in to the Partner Center.
- Click Add a price.
- Choose the currency.
- Enter the price.
- Select the list of countries/regions where this price should apply.
Note: Start typing the country/region name to see matching countries/regions. To exclude countries from a region, select countries you want to leave off the list.
If currency conversion is enabled, you can list countries that use a different currency than the one you specified. Your converted prices will be based on your list price. The default value WORLD
will apply this price to all possible countries.
Note: Accounts created after July 2014 have currency conversion turned on by default.
In the “Effective prices” section of the new Partner Center, you can find:
- Country
- List price
- Base price
- Your revenue
- Effective dates
Tip: If you're not using the currency conversion tool, you should provide separate list prices in the appropriate currency for each country where you want to sell the book.
If you've provided a list price but your account shows an error message such as "Pricing information is missing or not applicable," you may need to check the settings in the Partner Center of your account. Consult our troubleshooter for help with configuring the necessary settings.

Setting |
Description |
---|---|
Is tax included? |
Check this box/select Yes if your price is tax-inclusive. If you leave this box unchecked and provide tax-exclusive prices, Google will calculate the appropriate prices to charge to buyers, including applicable taxes. |
Do Fixed Price Laws apply? |
Check this box/select Yes if you're subject to fixed book price laws in the countries where this price applies. This option is only available if you indicated that fixed pricing laws apply to one of your sales territories. If you have a sales territory for countries with fixed price laws and a sales territory for other countries, provide separate prices for these sales territories. |
Effective dates |
This setting is recommended for use with a new additional price when you already have an existing price. If you wish to schedule a price change in the future, enter the start and end dates for the period when the new price should be in effect. Use the format YYYY-MM-DD. The price will take effect at 00:00 (midnight) on the start date, and expire at 23:59 on the end date, according to the buyer's time zone.
