Parents in your family group can use Family Link to manage account settings in your child's Google Account.

Monitor Google activity on your child's account
Google may save some activity to your child's Google Account, based on the activity settings you chose for your child.
You can change your child's settings to stop Google from saving this type of activity, but doing so may mean some Family Link features and other Google services won't work.
- Open the Family Link app

- Tap Manage settings

- Follow the on-screen instructions to update account data settings.
You and your child can change your Google activity settings. You can also change your settings so only Parents can manage activity controls.
- Open your Family Link app
and select your child.
- Tap Manage settings

- From "Activity controls", you can allow your child to change these settings.
Important: If you added supervision to your child’s previously existing Google Account, you’ll need their help to do this.
- On your child's device, visit the My Activity page.
- Search for the app you want to find activity for.
- In the top right, tap More
.
- To find your child’s activity, tap Details.
- To remove your child’s activity, tap Delete.
Edit your child's Google Account info
Important: These options are only available if your child is under 13 (or the applicable age in your country) and hasn't chosen to manage their own account.
- Open the Family Link app

- Select your child.
- On the "Settings" card, tap Manage settings

- In the top right, tap Edit

- Make changes to your child's account.
- In the top right, tap Save.
Tip: You can also manage your child's account when you click on your child's name at g.co/YourFamily.
Important: This option is not available if you added supervision to your child’s existing Google Account.
- Open the Family Link app

- Select your child.
- On their current picture, tap Photo
.
- Select a photo, or take a new one.
Important: This option is not available if you added supervision to your child’s existing Google Account.
Changing your child's password might sign them out of their devices. Any supervision settings you turned on won't work until your child signs in again.
- Open the Family Link app
.
- Select your child.
- On the "Settings" card, tap Manage settings

Change password.
- Sign in with your Google Account information.
- Enter a new password.
- Tap Change.
- If your child has 2-Step Verification turned on, tap "Got it" to confirm the pop-up notification.
Tip: You can also manage your child's account when you click on your child's name at g.co/YourFamily.
2-Step Verification for your child's account

If your child has 2-Step Verification turned on for their account and you change their password, 2-Step Verification will be turned off and an extra layer of security will be removed from their account.

Once 2-Step Verification is turned off, a notification email will be sent to both you and your child.
