When you talk to Gboard, you can choose to donate snippets of your speech to improve speech models and make speech recognition a better experience for everyone. Snippets include a maximum of 15 seconds of your speech. If there’s silence or unrecognized audio, snippets may be up to 25 seconds. Google won’t keep these snippets beyond 18 months.
You can change your settings anytime
You can stop sending your audio anytime when you turn this feature off in Gboard settings. In Gboard, go to Settings Voice typing.
The audio snippets aren’t associated with you
Your audio snippets won’t be associated with you or your account. Because these snippets aren't tied to you or your account, you won’t have access to them after they’re sent to Google.
The audio snippets are only used to improve technology
Your audio snippets will be used in line with Google’s privacy policy. They’ll only be used to improve speech technology. As part of this improvement, human reviewers may listen to or transcribe some snippets.
Tip: It’s voluntary to participate in data donation.
