You can use Google One storage space for Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos. Check if Google One is available for your account.

Find your storage space
- On your computer, go to one.google.com.
- On the left, click Storage.
- To check storage that each family member uses, next to "Family storage," click the Down arrow
.
Update your Google One membership
You can select a storage plan that has more or less storage space. You can also switch your storage plan to a monthly or annual subscription.
Change your Google One plan
To switch to a different Google One plan:
- On your computer, go to one.google.com.
- On the left, click Settings
Change membership plan.
- Choose your new storage limit:
- To add more storage space, under "Upgrade options," choose a plan.
- To pay for less storage space, under "Downgrade options," choose a plan.
Tip: If there’s no downgrade option, you're on the lowest plan.
- Confirm the new plan price and details. Then, click Next.
- Select your payment method and click Subscribe.
Switch your payments to monthly or yearly
Google One members can choose either a monthly or yearly subscription. Yearly plans usually cost less overall.

When you upgrade or downgrade a plan, you can also switch to monthly or yearly plans.
- On your computer, go to one.google.com.
- On the left, click Settings
Change membership plan.
- Select a monthly or annual subscription.
- Confirm the new plan price and details. Then, click Next.
- Select your payment method and click Subscribe.
Stop storage payments
If you don't want to pay for extra storage, you can end your Google One plan. When you cancel your plan, your Google Account still has 15 GB of free storage. To get more storage space, you can rejoin Google One.

If you sign up through iTunes
If you sign up for Google One through iTunes on an iPhone or iPad and later switch to an Android device: You can't adjust your membership or change your payment method in the app. To update your account and other info, use iTunes on another device.
Issues with your storage space
Family members use too much shared storageBy default, family members can use any amount of the available storage. If a member uses too much storage, ask them to clear some of their storage.

Tip: If you change your storage limit, it can take up to 24 hours for the changes to apply to your account.
A Google One membership replaces your current storage plan. The storage from your Google One membership becomes your new storage limit and isn't added on top of your existing storage.
If you got storage as part of a promotion, you keep the extra storage.

Not all files count against your storage space. For example, emails in your Gmail's Trash don't take up storage, but files in your Drive's Trash do.
Other issues
You can’t send or receive emails after the upgradeIf you change your storage limit, it can take up to 24 hours for the changes to apply to your account. In these 24 hours, messages you send or receive through Gmail can be affected. Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Sign out of your Google Account, then sign back in.
- Send a test email to yourself.
- If that doesn’t work:
- Open an incognito window and log into your Gmail account. Then, try to send an email.
- Use a different browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox to open your Google Account. Try to send an email.
If you still can’t send messages, wait 24 hours and try again.
All your files stay safe, but you can’t store anything new. For example:
Gmail
You can’t send or receive messages. Messages sent to you are returned to the sender.
Important: As of June 1, 2021, if you remain inactive or go over your storage quota for 2 years or longer, all of your emails may be deleted.
Google Drive
You can’t sync or upload new files. You can’t create new files in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, and Jamboard. Until you reduce the amount of storage you use, neither you nor anyone else can edit or copy your affected files. Syncs stop between your computer's Google Drive folder and My Drive.

Google Photos
You can’t back up any photos or videos. If you want to add any more photos and videos, you can free up Google storage space or buy more Google storage.

If you use the Google One website or another device to sign up for a plan, but you don't buy a plan via the App Store:
- You can download the Google One app onto your Apple device.
- You can't change your Google One plan on your iPhone or iPad.
If you want to adjust your account and manage your membership via the app, you must buy a plan with an Apple subscription.
Step 1: Cancel your Google One plan
On your computer:
- Go to Google One.
- Cancel the Google One plan you previously bought.
Step 2: Buy a Google One plan with an Apple subscription
On your iPhone or iPad:
- Download the Google One app from the App store.
- Open the Google One app
.
- At the top left, tap Menu
Membership plan.
- Select a Google One plan.
- After you pick your plan, in the App Store, confirm your new subscription.
To make Google One subscription changes, use the Google account that you used when you subscribed to Google One in these iPhone and iPad apps:

- Gmail
- Drive
- Photos
