Does Google Trends provide implausible data?
Hi, when using Google Trends I am struggling with possibly implausible results (Query from Germany, see Trends graph attached)
Looking for the german word 1: "Rückenschmerz" and word 2: "Rücken Schmerz" the result set seems implausible, as in a few time points the amount of hits is larger for word 1 (blue). I think this should not be the case as word 1 is a perfect subset of word 2. Do you have an idea what could be wrong? Do is miss something. Independent rescaling (0-100) for both word seems not to be the case, as the maximum of blue line is below 100. Also, when using the englisch synonyms "backpain" and "back pain" this issue
does not arise, ie the hits for "back pain" are always larger than
"backpain", as expected.
Thank you very much!
