In select locations, certain videos on the YouTube Kids app are available to save offline for playback during periods of low or no connectivity.
The features described in this article are available in the locations listed below. If YouTube Premium and YouTube Kids are available in your location, you can watch videos offline on your mobile device by becoming a YouTube Premium member. If you are a YouTube Premium member, learn how to manage your offline settings.

Save videos offline
You must be signed in to YouTube Kids to save videos offline.
- Search for the video you'd like to save offline.
- Tap Menu
, then select Save offline.
- If you'd like to stop saving the video, tap Stop saving the video? in the dialog box.
Videos will remain offline for up to 48 hours.
View and remove saved videos
View videos
- Tap the Lock icon
in the bottom corner of any page in the app.
- Read and enter the numbers that appear or enter your custom passcode.
- Select Offline videos.
Remove videos
- Tap the Lock icon
in the bottom corner of any page in the app.
- Read and enter the numbers that appear or enter your custom passcode.
- Select Offline videos.
- Tap Menu
next to the video you'd like to remove.
- Select Remove from offline.
Update saved video settings
By default, videos are only saved over Wi-Fi. To allow videos or playlists to be saved over a mobile network:
- Tap the Lock icon
in the bottom corner of any page in the app.
- Read and enter the numbers that appear or enter your custom passcode.
- Tap Settings, then tap Offline.
- Turn the radio button Off for "Save over Wi-Fi only."
You can also set the default quality of your saved videos. Higher quality videos may consume more data, take longer to appear in the Offline videos section, and take up more space on your device.
- Tap the Lock icon
in the bottom corner of any page in the app.
- Read and enter the numbers that appear or enter your custom passcode.
- Tap Settings, then tap Offline.
- Tap Video quality, and choose the quality you'd like as a default.
