David Dastmalchian (“Dune,” “The Suicide Squad”) has joined the cast of Matt Ruskin’s 1960s-set “Boston Strangler” for 20th Century Studios.

Keira Knightley, Carrie Coon, Alessandro Nivola and Chris Cooper co-star in the story of the murders of at least eleven women that rocked Boston with Knightley playing the reporter who broke the story of the strangler.

Dastmalchian’s role is said to be small, but pivotal. Ridley Scott, Kevin Walsh and Michael Pruss are producing and filming is slated to begin next month.
