Filmmaker Adil El Arbi has posted a photo confirming that production has officially begun on HBO Max’s “Batgirl” movie starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon along with J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Brendan Fraser as the film’s villain. Arbi will be co-directing the upcoming film with Bilall Fallah from a script by Christina Hodson. [Source: Instagram]

Andre Ovredal (“Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark”) will direct “Tarot,” a high concept thriller based on Tarot cards which has been setup at eOne. White Men Can’t Jump
Having just directed the “House Party” reboot at New Line, filmmaker Calmatic has been set to direct the remake of the Harrelson-Snipes 1992 sports comedy “White Men Can’t Jump” at 20th Century Studios.

Kenya Barris and Doug Hall co-wrote the script, with Barris also producing. The original followed two street basketball hustlers who at first try to hustle each other, then team up for a bigger score. [Source: DisInsider]

Nightmare Alley
A new featurette has been released for Guillermo del Toro’s neo-noir tale “Nightmare Alley,” coming two weeks ahead of the film’s premiere on December 17th. As Del Toro indicates, the aim of the project was to do the kind of classical Hollywood films no one does anymore. Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett and Willem Dafoe among others star.
