VPS, or Virtual Private Server, is a type of website hosting that mimics a dedicated server, but is generally less expensive. The benefit of having a dedicated server is that you get more control and VPS offers the same thing - for example, our VPS hosting includes SSH and full root access, which means you can install almost any software products you want. This is in contrast to a shared server, which is restricting in what you can install and due to the fact that you're sharing resources, which can also result in your website being affected if another site on the same server gets too much traffic, for example.

Dynadot VPS Hosting Service Retirement

Our VPS hosting plan is no longer available for purchase and we will be retiring the service at a tentative date in the future. If you currently have an active plan, the service will remain fully functional until your plan has expired. For the customers still on the service, we will be sending an email notice regarding important dates for the VPS hosting retirement. If there are any questions, please contact our support team.
