The Ashmolean Museum
Founded in 1683, the Ashmolean Museum is the most significant museum of art and archaeology in the heart of Britain and the finest university museum in the world. Admission is free.
We are open 10am-5pm Tuesday-Saturday and 12-5pm on Sundays. We are not open on Mondays.
Modern Art Oxford is located in the centre of Oxford and is home to gallery spaces, a café, shop and a performance space.
Relaxed visits
Each Tuesday between 10am-12pm the gallery is open for relaxed visits. These are tailored for visitors who may be on the autistic spectrum, have anxiety, Tourette syndrome, sensory difficulties or disabilities and anyone who would benefit from a relaxed visit to the exhibition. During these visits, we have reduced capacity in the galleries and a quiet space available in our Basement.

Modern Art Oxford is located in the heart of Oxford city centre, less than half a mile from the central Gloucester Green Bus Station and just over half a mile from Oxford's mainline rail station. Direct trains run from London Paddington to Oxford every 30 minutes.

Fast and frequent bus services provide a direct link between central Oxford, Oxfordshire and central London. Stagecoach and the Oxford Bus Company have a range of services to get you to your destination. The X90 service runs all day and most of the night. The Oxford Tube runs 24/7. These journeys take approximately 100 minutes – longer during the rush hour.
Access is available through both our entrances. There are three disabled parking bays directly outside the gallery on St Ebbe’s street.
