'American Horror Story' killer clowns to that 'Wrath of Khan' cry: The scream podcast

This week's episode of the Straight Up Hollywood podcast starts in Star Trek deep space and ends up in America — from American Horror Story: Cult to a departing American Ninja Warrior superstar.

We begin with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The 1982 Star Trek movie classic is coming back to theaters Sept. 10 and 13 with Fathom Events, giving a chance for viewers to hear William Shatner yell "Khannnnn!" again.

Movie reporter and Shatner devote Bryan Alexander (@BryAlexand) breaks down the famous Admiral Kirk bellow brought about by rival Khan Noonien Singh (Ricardo Montalbán).

It's become one of the most "i-Khan-ic" moments in Star Trek's colorful history (we literally stole that joke from Shatner).

TV reporter Bill Keveney (@BillKev) talks up the new season of FX's American Horror Story: Cult. Season 7 gets political but also focuses on the other kinds of clowns — the freaky costumed variety.

Keveney explains that series creator Ryan Murphy has gone full-circus, bringing back his favorite menace for the horror series. The clown hauntings are everywhere, including showing clowns doing the dirty business in a grocery aisle. Real or imagined evil? You'll have to listen and watch Horror Story to find out (starting Sept. 5).

Finally, entertainment gladiator Carly Mallenbaum (@ThatGirlCarly) pays her respect to departing American Ninja Warrior Kacy Catanzaro. "Mighty Kacy," as she is known, revolutionized the show and was the first woman to ever master the dreaded Warped Wall (seen below).

Mighty Kacy is swinging for the fences, onto the WWE to be a heel of a wrestler. Mallenbaum weighs in on her continued star prospects.
