Pesticides: pilot assessments on cumulative risk near to completion

EFSA is close to completing two landmark assessments of the risks posed to consumers by multiple pesticides. The pilot assessments – looking at the cumulative effects of pesticides in food on the human nervous and thyroid systems – have been made possible by work carried out with the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).

Conference: global change and the emergence of plant diseases in Europe

A two-day event in Paris will review the current state of scientific knowledge on the emergence of plant diseases and pests and their impact on the environment. The conference is co-organised by EFSA, the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (ANSES), and the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO).
