Welcome to the future home of the Network Advertising Initiative. NAI is a group of third party network advertisers who are committed to increasing consumer confidence and contributing to the growth of electronic commerce. Our principal business is delivering targeted advertising that can be tailored to consumers' declared or predicted characteristics or preferences. We are committed to providing consumers with a clear explanation of what data we collect, how we use it, and why use of data can benefit consumers' experience online.

On November 8, 1999, the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Commerce jointly convened a workshop on Online Profiling . Four representatives of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") appeared on Session III, "The Role of Self-Regulation" and gave the following testimony of behalf of NAI.The testimony outlines NAI's commitment to consumers and presages the group's self-regulatory principles.
